AIIMS Bibinagar Observes Swachhata Hi Seva on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October 2026:
The programme was organised in the spirit of Jan Bhagidari and collective responsibility towards cleanliness, in line with the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative with active participation of Executive Director, Dean Academics, Medical Superintendent, Deputy Director Administration, faculty administrative staff, nursing officers, resident doctors, students, security and housekeeping personnel of the Institute.
A Swachhata Drive was undertaken from Gate No. 4 to Gate No. 1, Participants carried out deep cleaning and rag picking covering the main access areas and adjoining portions of the campus.
A Best Maintained Clean Room Competition was also conducted in the Boys' and Girls' Hostels, encouraging students to maintain clean, hygienic and orderly living spaces and to develop cleanliness as a daily habit.
As part of the programme, a plantation drive was undertaken in the campus, reinforcing the Institute's commitment towards a clean, green and healthy environment.
A homage was paid to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, the Executive Director, AIIMS Bibinagar, Prof. Amita Aggarwal, highlighted the relevance of Gandhian values in everyday life. She emphasised simple principles such as Safai (cleanliness), Satya (truth), Seva (service), Sadhgi (simplicity) and Sarvodaya (welfare of all) as values that can guide individuals towards a disciplined, peaceful and meaningful life.
The initiative reflected the Institute's continued commitment to Swachhata, environmental responsibility and Jan Bhagidari, with active participation from the AIIMS community.
