
Rourkela Police Detect House Burglary Case; One Arrested, Stolen Property Recovered
Rourkela, September 30, 2026 (SatyaNewsAlert): Rourkela Police have detected a house burglary case registered at Chhend Police Station and arrested one person in connection with the theft of newly installed brass and steel water taps, fittings and shower sets from a newly constructed house at RDA Colony in Kalinga Vihar.
According to police, a complaint was lodged by 60-year-old Ramakanta Swain on September 27, following which Chhend Police registered Case No. 267/2026 and launched an investigation.
Acting on credible intelligence, police apprehended Dendu alias Akash Bud (20) for his alleged involvement in the burglary. During interrogation, he reportedly disclosed the name of a person suspected of receiving the stolen property.
Based on the information provided, police conducted searches at the house and godown of Ram Muharat Gupta of Dandiapali. The searches led to the recovery of the stolen taps, fittings and shower sets. Police also seized other suspected stolen iron scrap materials.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of other persons and establish the full extent of the alleged theft and recovery.
