#assam: In a major crackdown on wildlife crime, the Assam Police Special Task Force (STF), acting on specific intelligence, apprehended two men from Bangalipara in Tamulpur and recovered two elephant tusks weighing over 4 kg. The accused were allegedly attempting to sell the ivory for approximately ₹6 lakh. The seized ivory and the accused have been handed over to the Forest Department for further legal proceedings. Authorities have also launched an investigation to trace the wider inter-state and pan-India wildlife trafficking network behind the illegal trade.
