#News | A team of the Assam Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell conducted a r@id at the office of the Superintending Engineer, PWD (Building Division), Dibrugarh, on Tuesday following an alleged br!bery complaint against Assistant Executive Engineer Mridul Baglary.
According to the complaint lodged by contractor Raj Shekhar Hazarika, Baglary allegedly demanded ₹1.50 lakh for processing and clearing a pending bill related to a ₹1.40-crore project at Madarkhat Tea Estate. The alleged amount was later negotiated to ₹1.30 lakh, according to the complaint.
The Vigilance team reportedly laid a trap and apprehended Baglary while he was allegedly accepting the first instalment of ₹30,000.
Following the apprehension, the Vigilance team also conducted a search at Baglary’s residence in Khaniagaon, Dibrugarh.
Further details regarding the investigation and any official statement from the Vigilance authorities are awaited. The allegations remain subject to the ongoing investigation.
