BMC मुख्यालय में एक्सपायर फायर बॉल्स, फायर सेफ्टी पर उठे सवाल मुंबई। मुंबई में इमारतों में फायर सेफ्टी नियमों के पालन को लेकर निरीक्षण और कार्रवाई करने वाला बृहन्मुंबई म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन (BMC) अब खुद अपने मुख्यालय में फायर सेफ्टी को लेकर सवालों के घेरे में है। BMC मुख्यालय के भीतर कई जगहों पर ऐसे फायर सप्रेशन डिवाइस पाए गए हैं, जिनकी वैलिडिटी अवधि समाप्त हो चुकी है। जानकारी के मुताबिक, BMC मुख्यालय में डिजास्टर मैनेजमेंट सेल के बाहर भी एक ऐसा फायर सप्रेशन डिवाइस लगा हुआ है, जिस पर निर्माता की ओर से जून 2026 तक की वैलिडिटी डेट अंकित है। अगस्त 2026 में भी इसके लगे होने से इसकी वैधता अवधि समाप्त हो चुकी है। इन उपकरणों को आमतौर पर ‘फायर बॉल’ कहा जाता है। इन्हें आग के संपर्क में आने पर स्वतः सक्रिय होकर आग बुझाने वाले रसायन छोड़ने के लिए डिजाइन किया जाता है। इनका उद्देश्य आग को शुरुआती स्तर पर ही नियंत्रित करना होता है। बताया जाता है कि वर्ष 2021 में BMC मुख्यालय की अलग-अलग मंजिलों पर करीब 10 से 12 फायर बॉल्स लगाए गए थे। इन्हें डिजास्टर मैनेजमेंट सेल, BMC कमिश्नर के कार्यालय के बाहर और छह मंजिला एनेक्सी इमारत की प्रत्येक मंजिल के लॉबी क्षेत्र समेत कुछ महत्वपूर्ण स्थानों पर लगाया गया था। इनमें से कई उपकरणों पर जून 2026 की वैलिडिटी डेट दर्ज होने की बात सामने आई है। ऐसे में सवाल उठता है कि जब BMC शहर की इमारतों में फायर सेफ्टी कंप्लायंस की जांच कर रहा है, तो उसके अपने मुख्यालय में एक्सपायर हो चुके फायर सप्रेशन उपकरण अब तक क्यों लगे हुए हैं? फायर सेफ्टी उपकरणों की समय-समय पर जांच और जरूरत पड़ने पर उन्हें बदलना बेहद महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है। ऐसे में BMC मुख्यालय में एक्सपायर उपकरणों की मौजूदगी से कर्मचारियों और यहां आने वाले लोगों की सुरक्षा को लेकर भी सवाल खड़े हो रहे हैं। अब देखना होगा कि BMC प्रशासन इस मामले में क्या कार्रवाई करता है और क्या मुख्यालय में लगे सभी फायर सप्रेशन उपकरणों की वैलिडिटी की जांच कर उन्हें तत्काल बदला जाता है।
