#News || The Chaparigaon Hari Mandir Durga Puja Committee is set to present a unique eco-friendly theme for Durga Puja 2026, highlighting the message of protecting nature and keeping the environment pollution-free.
This year’s theme, “Maa Durga – Mother of Nature,” will portray Goddess Durga at the heart of a living natural environment, surrounded by trees, plants, rivers, animals and the beauty of Assam.
The puja will also highlight 10 promises to protect nature, represented through Maa Durga’s ten hands. These include saving trees and water, protecting rivers and wildlife, reducing waste, stopping plastic pollution and keeping the air clean.
The pandal will follow an eco-friendly approach, using materials such as bamboo, jute, straw, wood, natural leaves and reusable materials.
The committee has pledged to avoid thermocol, single-use plastic and plastic decorations as part of its pollution-free Durga Puja initiative.
Through the theme, the organisers aim to spread the message that protecting nature is a collective responsibility, with a special focus on safeguarding Assam’s environment for future generations.
