A Class XII student, Adi has now maintained an impressive winning streak at the state level for the fourth consecutive year. Competing against leading shooters from 12 districts, including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and East Singhbhum, he emerged as one of the standout performers of the championship. ##Two Gold Medals and a Bronze Adi clinched gold medals in the Open Sight 50m Rifle Shooting Men’s Individual and Open Sight 50m Junior Rifle Shooting Individual categories. He added another medal to his tally by securing bronze in the Peep Sight 50m Rifle Shooting Youth Individual event, taking his overall championship haul to three medals. ##Ticket to East Zonal Championship His strong performance has also opened the door to bigger competitions. Adi has qualified for the 10th East Zonal Shooting Championship (Pistol/Rifle), scheduled to be held in Asansol from August 25 to 30, 2026. The qualification marks another important milestone in the young shooter’s developing career as he prepares to compete against leading shooters at the zonal level. ##Set for All India G.V. Mavlankar Championship Adi will also compete in the All India G.V. Mavlankar Shooting Championship in Punjab, a prestigious pre-national tournament that serves as an important platform ahead of the National Shooting Championship. His qualification for the competition has raised expectations about another strong performance from the Bokaro shooter. ##Championship Organised Under NRAI-Affiliated Body The 16th Jharkhand State Shooting Championship was organised by the Jharkhand State Rifle Association, affiliated with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and the Jharkhand Olympic Association. The championship brought together talented shooters from across Jharkhand, providing a competitive platform for emerging athletes to showcase their skills. ##DPS Bokaro Promotes Shooting Talent Congratulating Adi on his achievement, DPS Bokaro Principal Dr A. S. Gangwar said shooting continues to be one of India’s major medal prospects at the Olympic level. He highlighted the school’s efforts to promote the sport among students and said DPS Bokaro has established the ‘Abhinav Bindra Shooting Range’, the first school-level facility of its kind in Bokaro district.
