#News | The Department of Assamese of Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmal Kanoi College (Autonomous), Dibrugarh, on Saturday organised Kavyachintan, a poetry discussion programme under the central agenda of the Sadou Asom Kabi Sanmilan.
Dr. Kaberi Deka Hazarika, distinguished literary figure and former professor of Dibrugarh University, delivered a talk on “The Evolution of Poetry: Continuity and Challenges” during the programme.
The session explored the evolution of poetry, its enduring literary traditions, contemporary relevance and the challenges it faces in changing times. It also provided a platform for intellectual exchange and encouraged deeper engagement with Assamese language and literature.
Principal Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia attended the programme, reflecting the college’s continued efforts to promote literary appreciation and academic discourse.
